San Francisco: OpenAI has launched a new artificial intelligence platform called Presence, allowing businesses to use AI to handle routine tasks such as customer support, IT assistance and sales operations.

The company said the platform is designed for organisations that want AI to work alongside employees rather than replace them.

Businesses can use it to answer customer questions, retrieve information, assist staff with day-to-day work and manage repetitive tasks more efficiently.

OpenAI said companies using Presence will be able to decide what information the AI can access and when a request should be passed to a human employee.

The platform also includes security controls intended to protect company data.
The launch comes as businesses across industries are increasingly adopting artificial intelligence to improve productivity and reduce the time employees spend on routine work.

OpenAI joins several major technology companies that are expanding their focus from consumer AI tools to enterprise software.

Unlike ChatGPT, which is used by individuals for writing, research and conversations, Presence is built specifically for businesses and large organisations. It is currently available to selected enterprise customers, with a broader rollout expected in phases.

The announcement reflects OpenAI’s growing push into the business software market as demand for AI-powered workplace tools continues to rise worldwide.
