The latest results highlight the growing depth of India’s next generation of athletes, many of whom secured podium finishes on one of the biggest international sporting stages.

Saturday proved to be India’s most successful day of the Games, with the contingent winning 16 medals, including seven gold medals in boxing, helping India climb to fourth place in the overall medal standings with 39 medals. Young boxers dominated their categories, while athletes in judo, para athletics and track and field added crucial medals to the tally.

Indian athletics also created history as Gulveer Singh became the first Indian to win a Commonwealth Games medal in the men’s 5,000 metres, while also becoming the country’s first track and field athlete to claim two medals in a single edition of the Games. The achievement underlined India’s growing strength in endurance events, traditionally dominated by other nations.

With only the final day’s events remaining, Indian athletes are still in contention for additional medals in disciplines such as judo and track cycling. The

The performances throughout the Games have reflected India’s expanding talent pool and continued investment in high-performance sport, reinforcing the country’s ambition to remain among the leading sporting nations at future international competitions.
