Heavy rainfall is expected to make a comeback in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts an active phase of the southwest monsoon over the coming days. Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are also likely in several areas, prompting weather alerts.

In Delhi, residents can expect cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. The weather department has warned that intense showers could lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas, traffic congestion and reduced visibility during peak travel hours.

Mumbai is also likely to witness a fresh spell of heavy rainfall after a brief pause in monsoon activity. IMD has issued weather alerts for parts of Maharashtra, with thunderstorms, gusty winds and heavy showers expected to affect daily life.

Commuters have been advised to remain cautious, especially in flood-prone areas.

Bengaluru and several parts of Karnataka are forecast to receive widespread rainfall as monsoon conditions remain active across southern India. While light to moderate showers are expected in the city, isolated heavy rainfall is likely in parts of the state over the next few days.

Authorities have advised people in all three cities to avoid waterlogged roads, drive carefully during heavy rain and stay updated with the latest IMD advisories, as weather conditions may change quickly with the advancing monsoon.
