New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that the Union Cabinet will consider stricter measures to tackle examination paper leaks, saying the government is preparing stronger legal action to protect the future of students across the country.

The announcement came through a late-night video message shared on his official social media accounts.

In the video, the Prime Minister said paper leaks have caused immense distress to lakhs of students and their families. He added that several actions have already been taken over the past few months, including arrests of those allegedly involved in
examination malpractice.

Prime minister Modi said the Cabinet would discuss a draft proposal aimed at introducing tougher provisions against paper leaks. The Centre also plans to seek Parliament’s approval for the legislation during the ongoing session.

The announcement follows the government’s earlier decision to establish fast-track courts for paper leak cases to ensure quicker trials and stricter punishment for offenders.

The issue has triggered nationwide concern in recent weeks, with students and opposition parties demanding stronger safeguards to preserve the integrity of competitive examinations.
