Corrections & Updates Policy

TheUtkal.com understands that factual errors can occur in journalism.

Our responsibility is to identify and correct significant errors rather than allow incorrect information to remain unaddressed.

Requesting a Correction

A correction request may be submitted to:

Email: reach@theutkal.com

Please include:

  • The article title or URL.
  • The specific information believed to be incorrect.
  • The proposed correction.
  • Supporting evidence, where available.
How We Review Requests

Correction requests are reviewed on the basis of evidence, accuracy and the significance of the issue raised.

A disagreement with an article’s opinion, interpretation or editorial conclusion does not necessarily constitute a factual error.

Types of Changes
Minor Corrections

Typographical, grammatical, spelling or formatting errors may be corrected without a formal correction note.

Factual Corrections

Material errors involving names, dates, locations, figures, quotations or other significant facts may be corrected and, where appropriate, accompanied by a correction note.

Updates

Developing stories may be updated when significant new and verified information becomes available.

Where an update materially changes the understanding of a report, the article may include an appropriate update note.

Transparency

TheUtkal.com does not intentionally alter material facts in a manner that could mislead readers about the history or substance of a report.

The purpose of a correction is to maintain an accurate public record, not to conceal an error.
