Grievance Redressal

TheUtkal.com has established a grievance redressal mechanism for complaints concerning content published on the platform.

Under the applicable digital-media framework, the publisher constitutes Level I of the self-regulating mechanism and is required to establish a grievance redressal mechanism and appoint a Grievance Officer based in India. The current rules also require the publisher to display the relevant contact details and provide for a decision on grievances within fifteen days.

Grievance Officer

Name: Tenzin
Email: Tenzin@theutkal.com
Location: Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India

The Grievance Officer is the designated contact point for grievances relating to the applicable Code of Ethics and published content.

How to Submit a Grievance

A grievance should include:

  1. The complainant’s name and contact details.
  2. The URL or title of the relevant content.
  3. A clear description of the grievance.
  4. The specific issue or provision concerned.
  5. Supporting information or documents, where relevant.

Complaints should be sent to:

Tenzin@theutkal.com

Review of Grievances

Each legitimate grievance will be considered on its merits.

Where a complaint identifies a factual error or other justified concern, appropriate action may include correction, clarification, updating or other action warranted by the circumstances and applicable law.

A disagreement with accurate reporting, commentary or an editorial position does not by itself establish grounds for removal or correction.

The Grievance Officer will communicate the decision to the complainant within the applicable period prescribed by law.

Further Levels

The digital-media framework provides a three-tier grievance redressal mechanism. Level I is the publisher, Level II is the applicable self-regulating body, and Level III is the Central Government oversight mechanism.

TheUtkal.com will comply with applicable requirements concerning participation in the prescribed self-regulatory framework and lawful directions issued under the applicable legal framework.

This grievance mechanism does not prevent any person from exercising rights or remedies available under applicable law.
